Does Design Matter? The new Microsoft mouse

I recently moved to the IPhone 4 for my phone and although it doesn’t do everything great, such as mail and working with MS Office documents, its a lovely piece of kit and the touch screen is without doubt fantastic (Although I have high hopes Windows Phone 7 will compete on these levels) But the aesthetic design, quality of the build is always a huge plus in Apples favour. So its interesting to see Microsoft starting to do similar with the small amounts of hardware it actually builds.

I love the look of their new Arc mouse, but also its very practical in the way it folds flat and loses the need for a wheel to scroll around. Very nice and we see again the way we start to interact with our IT is starting to become easier and more intuitive.

Here’s a link to a video of it in action and some thoughts for the designer.
