New application feature for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015 – Totals and Invoice Discount Amounts displayed on Sales and Purchase Documents

A new welcome addition has been linked to Sales and Purchase documents within Dynamics NAV 2015 that displays the cumulative Total of the document and associated Discount. This applies to Quotations, Orders, Blanket Orders, Invoices, Credit Memos and Return Orders for both Receivables and Payables.

It is now possible to see at a glance the Totals for any such document and replaces the need to come out of the active page and refer back to the Statistics screen. When posting a Purchase Invoice it will be easy to see immediately any discrepancy in the VAT Amount.

The fields are placed on the document page below the Lines section.

The functionality also extends to the equivalent Posted documents as seen here in an example of a Posted Purchase Invoice.

You can also change the Invoice Discount Amount in the Total fields and this will adjust the Total. It will display the calculated Invoice Discount %. Similarly, this will be carried through to any posted document.

JURA manufactures, distributes and services fully automatic coffee machines for home and commercial use. In the continually growing market of speciality coffee types such as ristretto, espresso, cappuccino and macchiato, JURA provides high quality, bean to cup coffee machines that make coffee suited exactly to a customer’s personal preference.

JURA was convinced that Microsoft Dynamics NAV was the right product for the business as it was already in use at its Swiss Head Office and throughout many of its worldwide operations but needed to find a local partner to implement the solution in the UK. Dynamics NAV will be used for order processing, finance, distribution and service management. Service management will include the logging of customer support calls, scheduling routine service visits and managing consumables such as filters and cleaning products.

Local Needs, Local Support

To support the specific needs of the UK, Dynamics NAV will be integrated with JURA’s own eCommerce site as well as Amazon to enable customer orders from both web trading platforms to be automatically passed straight into Dynamics NAV. Additional integration with UPS’s IT systems will enable delivery progress to be tracked. Finally, the implementation will also include the automatic receipt and processing of orders via EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) from John Lewis and Costco.

“This investment in a new business software solution is fundamental to supporting our expected growth and continued drive for efficiency improvements. Reporting will be so much easier and it will automatically aligned to the needs of Head Office without the need for manual intervention. The integration with other systems streamlines order management to improve accuracy and our customer responsiveness. Even the simplest of tasks will be quicker and easier – in our existing ERP solution just searching for the right information could sometimes be painful and time consuming,” says Anton Dreyer, IT Manager for JURA Products Limited.
